Specialty windows are some of the best features in a home, and some of the hardest to cover.
Arched windows, angled windows, hexagons, octagons and skylights all need a covering made to the exact shape of the glass. We use two main products for them. Plantation Shutters can be built to fit unique architectural shapes, and Honeycomb Shades come in circle, arch, angle and skylight versions.
Whatever the shape, we'll come up with a solution that gives you privacy and light control, and helps with the heat and cold too.

Arch & angle top shutters
Arch and angle top shutter panels are built to fit the shape of your window. A rear tilt bar keeps as many louvers working as possible, and louvers that aren't connected to it move on their own or stay fixed closed, depending on the design.
Arch tops can be full arches or quarter circles, and we build stand-alone specialty shapes too.

Circles & arches
Stationary or fan fold Honeycomb Shades fit curved and arched windows, with the same insulating cells as the shades on the rest of your windows.

Skylights
Skylight shades
A skylight brings in a lot of light, along with direct sun and heat that can bake a room. Skylight Honeycomb Shades are made to fit the skylight, so you can soften that light or block it.
Choose manual operation, or a motorized shade with a remote and a rechargeable motor, so nobody needs a ladder or a pole to open and close it.

Can you cover a window that isn't a rectangle?

Plantation Shutters can be built to fit unique architectural shapes, and Honeycomb Shades come in circles, arches, angles and skylight versions. A Design Specialist measures the opening in your home so the product is made to fit your window.
Do all the louvers on an arched shutter open?
A rear tilt bar keeps as many louvers working as possible. Depending on the shape, some louvers move on their own and some may be fixed closed. Your Design Specialist will show you how your shutter will work before you order.
Should the louvers on an arch close up or down?
You can choose either, to match the bottom rail of the other windows in the room. Upward closure gives the tightest fit.
Can skylight shades be motorized?
Yes. Skylight Honeycomb Shades come in a manual version or a motorized version with a remote and a rechargeable motor, so nobody needs a ladder or a pole.
